The Greater Cleveland Food Bank has been fighting hunger in Northeast Ohio since 1979. Serving six different counties, this organization has provided food to thousands of households in the Greater Cleveland area for decades. In addition to providing food, they also have a Nutrition Outreach program to provide those in need with customized button plans from nutrition specialists and a registered dietitian. They are also a member of Feeding America as one of its 200 national food banks. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank has played a pivotal part in fighting the hunger crisis in Northeast Ohio and across America.

On Friday, November 18th, we volunteered at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Seven members of our team spent their morning building and packing boxes with non-perishable food items for those in need. Here at The Third Estimate, we take pride in giving back to our community.

After a brief rundown from the Food Bank staff on each job, we were broken into teams with the other volunteers. We had three of our team members building the boxes, two filling the boxes at the conveyer belt with an assigned food item, and the last two helping make sure the packers had enough of their assigned items.

Our team spent 3 hours packing emergency boxes with juice, cereal, canned vegetables, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and other non-perishables for families in need. We had a great time and loved being able to give back and help those in need in our area.
