The Third Estimate is built on the foundation of family and community—values we uphold every day in our work. Our team is committed to creating a better tomorrow and enriching the communities we proudly call home. In 2024, to further this mission, our CEO, Tara, introduced the Northeast Ohio BuildHERS Scholarship. With the intent of empowering the next generation of builders and leaders. As a woman in this industry herself, she knows that we need to empower young women to pursue careers in it for the construction industry to grow.
Last year, Tara had the honor of presenting two exceptional young women with their scholarships at our office. As we enter our second year of awarding these scholarships, we’re excited to announce that we’re adding a $1,000 scholarship. This increases the total number of scholarships to three. In addition to financial support, the recipients will also gain exclusive internship opportunities, hands-on industry experience, and insider knowledge that will set them up for success.

The BuildHERS movement goes beyond just scholarships. Tara has begun visiting schools to motivate, inform, and inspire students who are considering careers in construction. By reaching out directly to young people, we aim to change the narrative and highlight construction is a viable and exciting path for women.
Why?
We are committed to equipping the next generation with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to succeed in construction. At The Third Estimate, we empower young women pursuing careers in this field. We aim to build a more inclusive, resilient industry where women lead and shape its future success. We believe diversity drives innovation, and our industry thrives when everyone has a seat at the table. By supporting women in construction, we’re helping create a stronger, more dynamic workforce for tomorrow.
